*Tom's been at Milliways a lot lately. (Don't worry, he's not fleeing home and shirking his responsibilities - he's just having fun talking with friends and meeting people) This evening, he walks in and sees the notice about the bar. He grins and heads over to the bar. He pats the wooden counter.*
Welcome back. You've been missed. Might I have a scotch, please?
*The scotch appears, and Tom takes it.*
Thank you very much.
*He finds a table and sits down, enjoying his drink.*
(OOC: Tom does not see Islington, and wouldn't know him by sight. He will meet him one day, but today is not that day. So no one needs to point Islington out to him or tell him who Islington is. Thanks!)

"Tom! Hello! Happy New Year!"
She may be just a little bit drunk.
January 2 2005, 03:35:38 UTC 7 years ago
Hullo, Minerva - do come join me.
Happy New Year to you, as well. How are you this evening?
January 2 2005, 03:37:13 UTC 7 years ago
"Quite well. And you?"
January 2 2005, 03:40:38 UTC 7 years ago
I am feeling splendid. The bar is working again, and she serves a fine scotch. May I buy you one?

There you are. Are you having a quiet holiday? No students running about getting into mischief?

Her gaze is trained on the bar, which is serving happily away in response to patrons' orders. Her eyes have acquired the glint of the truly curious wizard faced with a new and interesting spell.

*He grudgingly continues.*
It's rather brilliant.

She pulls out her wand and goes over to the bar, intent on casting some diagnostic spells to see how it works.
January 2 2005, 04:09:07 UTC 7 years ago
There you are, you...
"Tom Riddle?"
January 2 2005, 04:12:16 UTC 7 years ago
He takes another drink of scotch and sighs, making sure his wand is in reach*
Yes, I'm Tom Riddle. Would you be a Weasley?

Look, I've gone through this with your brother and your sister both. I understand why you're angry, but I'm not Voldemort. I came to Milliways from 1954, and I'm out of my time line. I won't become Voldemort. I'm not the same person any more. If you don't believe me, fine, but I'll remind you that hexes and curses are against the rules of the bar.

Bill looks down at the wand clenched so tightly in his hand, nods curtly, and tucks it away into his belt-loop. "Well enough, then. We wouldn't want to go about breaking the rules, would we."
For what seems to him an infinite minute he simply studies the man's eyes. Finally, he speaks in a low growl. "Someone by your name hurt my sister gravely. You may say you come here from 1954 but I don't. I also don't trust you. Prove me wrong and I'll step down."
Because really, Bill, you know how time can be manipulated, for good and for bad. You know that all too well.

"Hello, Mr. Weasley." She is using the tone that indicates she is about to pounce upon an unsuspecting student who is late to class without a decent excuse.
"While I understand your concern about your sister, I can promise you, Tom here is deeply sorry about that, and has no intention of causing further harm." She shoots Tom a look indicating he's better agree with this assessment.
"I can tell you this because I have questioned him while he was under the influence of Veritaserum, and he was *very* sincere about his reformation."
Her eyes narrow. "Are we clear?"
January 2 2005, 04:40:16 UTC 7 years ago
She has never once failed to command respect and suddenly Bill feels like an errant fifth-year, a Prefect caught out of his Common Room after lights-out.
"Professor." He swallows hard and looks from Professor McGonagall (who does not look the least bit happy) to the man who calls himself Tom Riddle from a different timeline to Angie hovering and back to his former Head of House.
"Yes, Professor." He's not rueful enough to apologise for his behaviour, but he knows when he's outnumbered.
And for the moment wisdom indicates retreat. "Yes, ma'am."

Look Bill just come away... Security will be all over your arse if you start something.
January 2 2005, 04:49:13 UTC 7 years ago
I have apologised to your sister, even though I was not in control of the spell that hurt her. Still, I created it and I knew what it could do. I take full responsibility for it, and I assure you that I am not the same person who charmed that diary. Milliways has made everything different for me.
*He glances at Minerva, gratitude in his eyes.*
Thank you for speaking up for me, Minerva. I appreciate it.

"Aren't you..." He turns to Professor McGonagall. "But we were sworn to fight against him too, Professor. Sworn to it. We put our lives on the line because of... because of... vermin like him."
He covers his eyes with his hands for a moment, all anguish, all uncertainty.
His headache was back with a vengeance.
